Delete Your Account

Option 1: in the app

1. Open x/pat and sign in.
2. Go to Profile and tap the Settings (gear) icon.
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
4. Confirm twice. Your account is deleted straight away.

Option 2: by email (no app needed)

Email hello@xpat.social from the email address you use for x/pat, with the subject "Delete my account". You don't need to reinstall the app. We may reply to confirm it's really you, then delete the account within 7 days and email you when it's done.

What gets deleted and what we keep

Deleting in the app is immediate and permanent (it can't be undone). We delete:

• Your account, email, date of birth and sign-in details
• Your profile and photos
• Spots, posts, comments, votes, saves, check-ins, events, RSVPs and travel plans you created
• Your city-chat and direct messages
• Your city / online status, connections, XP and streaks, and push tokens

We may keep, for up to 1 year and only for safety and legal reasons: reports other users filed about content (with your account details removed) and moderation records, and anything we must preserve by law (for example, material reported to NCMEC). Analytics data (up to 12 months) and crash reports (up to 90 days) expire on their own schedule. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.

Want only some data deleted (for example a post or photo)? Delete it in the app, or email us. Want a copy first? Use Settings → Export My Data before deleting.
